Damage to
the
prefrontal cortex (PFC), or the front one-third of the
brain, can
result in a number of problems. These problems can range from an
inability (1) to filter out distractions during a task
(interference resolution), (2) to efficiently organize your behavior
(planning), and (3) to make analogy-like comparisons between mental
represenations
(relational integration). In an effort to understand how PFC is
functionally organized, we are seeking individuals with damage to PFC.
It is our hope that research with these patients will shed light on how
on the PFC functions as well as how we may approach interventions to
improve
different types of dysfunction.
