The goal of the STOMP program is to find out whether playing games can help children build fundamental cognitive skills, and how these improvements are reflected in the brain. Initial studies have shown promising gains in reasoning ability and cognitive speed after just 8 weeks of cognitive training. Now, we're hoping to learn whether gains in these skills lead to improvements in academic performance.

If you are a teacher, principal or after-school program coordinator, and would like your school or program to be involved in this study, please contact Allyson Mackey (amackey@berkeley.edu). We are able to provide a curriculum for cognitive skill building, as well as computerized and non-computerized games to your school.
